The PADI Advance Open Water Diver course is the next step after completing your Open Water Diver course and is the ideal level for you if you don’t wish to become a PADI professional. Plus, the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course takes you one step closer to becoming a PADI Master Scuba Diver – the ultimate non-professional certification in recreational diving.
Our PADI Advanced course consists of six dives and the six relevant knowledge reviews. There is NO exam in the Advanced Course! Your Deep dive, Navigation dive as well as Peak Performance Buoyancy dive are compulsory, and then there are a few options you have for the remaining three adventure dives.
PADI Adventure Dive Options
We offer the following; AWARE-fish identification, Boat, Drift, Multilevel and computer diving, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Search & Recovery, Digital Underwater Imaging, Delayed Surface Marker Buoy, Self-Reliant, Enriched Air Nitrox, Sidemount and Wreck Dives. Junior Advanced divers, once qualified, will be able to dive to 21m and those older than 15 years will be able to go down to 30m.
The wrecks of the Aliwal Shoal MPA (Marine Protected Area) namely the Nebo wreck and the MV Produce wreck all sit between 18.5m at the shallowest part and 33m at the deepest parts, so to dive any of them it is necessary to be qualified as an Advanced diver. There are also a variety of ocean creatures, from sponges to African butterflyfish to the Longnose hawkfish to Brindle Bass that only live on the deeper reefs and wrecks.
