Day One

Meet at Calypso Shop at Ushaka Marine World at 8:45am in order to complete paperwork. All / most of your home study work should already have been completed by this stage. You will be taken to the swimming pool to learn the necessary skills for the course, after which you will complete any theory work / videos that may be outstanding.

Day two

Your Instructor will be taking you for your first 2 boat dives, where you will practice the skills you learned in the pool, as well as have a shallow fun dive so that you use the equipment and gain confidence and comfort with the gear.  After these dive sessions you will log your dives and complete a short multiple choice exam.

Day Three

This is the day you have been waiting for, when you will have the opportunity to do your 2 qualifying dives with your Instructor.  Our dives are generally done around the Bluff area as these reefs allow for easy diving with beautiful corals and fish.  Our launch site from Durban is protected and is therefore an easy launch with a short boat ride of 5-15 minutes.

The Course Includes:

Course materials (Online Manual & Dive Table) Confined Pool modules (practicing skills) – one dive in the Ushaka Aquarium with over 1700 fish. These are continued in a swimming pool. Two Shore entries to familiarize yourself with the equipment, practice skills and correct buoyancy as well as three Boat dives from Durban.

Use of all soft gear & hard gear for the duration of the course and PADI Certification.
